Ok, so Christmas and the New Year have passed, and it’s time to restock the cupboards. Bread? check. Milk? check, Dildo? check. What? That’s right, our Nordic chums over in Finland will be stocking sex toys in their supermarkets from this month.

Those of you who may be heading that way to grab yourself some kinky treats will do well to know that the kinky accessories will only be stocked at the chain ; Citymarket. The toys on offer will include products manufactured by Swedish marketers and organisation for sexual enlightment (RSFU).

Lathela, a representative for the organisation claims that of the Nordic population, the Finnish community are most inclined to dabble with a sex aid or two! In fact, a recent study by the RSFU, into the sexual behaviour of Nordic people, uncovered that a staggering 65% of 20-45 year olds in Finland, claimed they would treat themselves to a kinky toy.

Lathela also claims that whilst supermarkets are already catering for every day needs, serving a variety of amenities, sexual needs have been neglected. He also adds that the supply of sex toys through supermarket chains is merely a necessary step toward the progression we are experiencing and a shift in culture surround the use of sex toys.

The jury is out as to whether the idea will catch on and many critics believe the move will leave children unduly exposed to things they are too young to understand, whilst others believe the internet to be the safest, most discreet way of getting your kinky toys.
